Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By using YourQL ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software. YourQL is provided as open-source software.

2. Description of the Software

YourQL is a desktop application that connects to databases and Google Sheets, allowing users to ask questions in natural language. The Software translates questions to SQL, executes them against user-configured data sources, and returns results.

3. Your responsibilities

• Database access: You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to access and query the databases and Google Sheets you connect to the Software.
• LLM providers: When you configure the Software to use third-party LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), you are responsible for complying with those providers' terms of service. Data you send to these providers is governed by their respective privacy policies.
• Query safety: The Software can execute arbitrary SQL against your connected data sources. You are responsible for ensuring queries are safe and for any consequences of queries executed.
• API keys and credentials: You are responsible for securing your own API keys, database credentials, and OAuth tokens.

4. Google Sheets integration

When you connect a Google account, the Software requests read-only access to Google Sheets (spreadsheets.readonly). The Software uses this access solely to read spreadsheet data for querying. You may revoke access at any time via your Google Account settings or through the Software's interface.

5. No warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors of YourQL shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, business interruption, or financial loss arising from your use of the Software.

7. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be noted in the Software's repository. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
